why o why must i do these things to myself. I saw Edy's Pumpkin Pie (frozen dairy dessert) the other day and I knew I had to give it a try. It seemed like a noble enough idea, but deep down my instincts knew it just wasn't going to work for me.
Well ...it doesn't work for me. The flavor is that of pumpkin as one would expect, but why would i want this in an ice cream? I love pumpkin pie, chilled ofcourse, but I just don't like this. Maybe I'm just lost without the crust. (Ok, the somewhat rubbery texture doesn't help either)
I tried it with chocolate sauce (nesquik) but it didn't add anything. So, I decided to try some butterscotch (the caramel I had went bad). BIG mistake. HUGE. Ginormous. The butterscotch brought out the worst in the ice cream. Not sure what it reacted with, but it was absolutely awful. I had to instantly wash it down with some pretzels. Be careful with this one!
On Second Scoop: I tried to have some more but I just don't enjoy this flavor at all. I also got the word in from the roving reporters ...I'm not alone on my diagnosis.

You win some, you lose some, I guess! Your post and description was very entertaining though and definitely made me smile!
ReplyDelete"Why would I want this in an ice cream?" That is exactly what I asked myself when I spotted this flavor a couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I couldn't pass up on the Ben & Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake flavor recently. For two reasons, because it was a cheesecake flavor, and because it contained graham cracker crust swirls. And I must admit, it was awesome.
