As much as I love ice cream, I don't think I've ever had ice cream on the Thanksgiving table. However, Turkey day isn't Turkey day without Pumpkin Pie, oh how I love a nice cold, fresh pumpkin pie.
Thing is, we didn't make a pumpkin pie yesterday, we made a Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle. Now, I need to make something clear: if you had asked me a week ago what a "trifle" was, I would be totally clueless. I've actually had a tasty chocolate trifle before, but had no idea it was called a trifle. I actually heard about this from a friend and I knew I had to take a crack at it.
Now I haven't sampled it yet, but I do look forward to finishing our meal with it! Hope everyone has a great day filled with tasty food, I know we will!
Update: Oh yeah, this is tastier then it looks. Ok, technically it would look tastier if I had made it in a trifle bowl instead of a punch bowl, but that's beside the point. If you even remotely like pumpkin or gingerbread, you need to try this chilly treat. The good news is we have a bunch of leftovers too. In case you need more convincing, check out this video.
