Blue Bunny White Chocolate Raspberry Frozen Yogurt
white chocolate flavored frozen yogurt
with a raspberry ribbon and dark chocolate chunks
Cool, there's a seal on the container which keeps the ice cream fresh and the spoon clean.
I know it's just a spoon, but it's a good size, solid, and can actually be reused.
I continued on and started checking out the swirl and the "Chunks". First off, things this small aren't called Chunks, they are called bits or pebbles or something. At this size, they don't really add much taste, just some little crunch here and there. The swirl adds a bit of flavor but it is also not what I expected. It's not bad, it's just not sweet which I kind of expected to compliment the white chocolate flavor.
Overall the texture is a bit like frozen milk, not completely, but kind of. It's not really creamy, and it's fairly light too. I guess that mild, watered down type texture is unavoidable when fat free milk is your second flavor. That said, I still like the base flavor, but I would be in love with this flavor if it had say a graham cracker swirl or maybe a fudge swirl with graham cracker or cookie bits... though nothing is stopping me from adding a little chocolate sauce or cookie crumb topping.
I'm looking forward to trying more of these all natural flavors. This was definitely good enough to keep me going, stay tuned for the next one in a few days.
Verdict? decent and clean
Buy Again? not sure, but I'm definitely trying the other Blue Bunny froyos

Wooh! I've seen the full size container in the store 500 times and once I grabbed it ready to get it and then... put it back and got the BB Red Velvet (Which is amazing btw).. I'm happy it's decent since I actually really do want to try it! I LOVE white chocolate. I was hoping for a more prominent white chocolate feel to it but hey maybe I'll feel it more? :P Anyway thank you for the review!
ReplyDeleteOoh it certainly sounds appealing, hopefully the other flavours will be slightly more wowing!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately there is no blue-bunny in San Diego. I've been wanting to try their red velvet cake, hopefully it's still around when I return to the east coast.
ReplyDelete@Malika: it's a shame the white chocolate gets buried here, it's seem like a nice flavor.
ReplyDelete@LoC: Stay tuned!
@Rodzilla: no worries, these are a long term product and not limited edition. (Enjoy SD!)
I wonder if the small container makes for any textural differences with frozen yogurt? I've seen these ins tores before and want to try the chocolate pistachio flavor. Tough to get me to bust out a buck for these though. College taught me the power of the unit price, so my better economic sense always gets the best of me haha
ReplyDelete@Rodzilla: Are you sure about that? I think they might carry it at Walmart (or at least the Supercenter locations), but I will have to make a trip out there to check. It's definitely not one of my favorite store, but since I live in Riverside, the one out here should have a similar selection to those around you. I'll try to update this, but it might have to wait until run through some of the ice cream on which I loaded up today.
ReplyDeleteI agree u buy there item for years and now when its,a top selling yogurt they decide to discontinue it.. I'm looking for my chocolate vanilla swirl yogurt ice cream from blue bunny and magically its no where to be found.. But they keep the low selling kinds on shelf that don't sell.. Unreal .. Maybe that's y Zeirhedies went out of business from Sheboygan Wi.. I like to know if my chocolate vanilla swirl is discontinued or what?
ReplyDeleteYes, they cancelled the top selling flavor and kept the stuff that doesnt move off shelves. That makes total sense! I suggest contacting blue bunny directly to see if they can help: https://www.bluebunny.com/connect
