SONIC’s Chocolate Cherry Sweetheart Shake Contest

Welcome to February everyone! We all know what that means right? 13 shopping days left to disappoint spoil your significant other! Woot! Well, Sonic wants to give you something tasty to bring home this month on top of whatever else you have planned. Check out the official announcement:

SONIC’s limited time Chocolate Cherry Sweetheart Shake

Available only in February, the Valentine’s Day-inspired treat is made with SONIC’s cherry-flavored creamy Real Ice Cream, blended with rich chocolate shavings and finished with whipped topping, more chocolate shavings and a cherry. It makes for a perfect Valentine companion for your taste buds.

I don't think I've ever had a cherry shake, so I'm pretty excited. Now just like other Sonic announcements, they have graciously offered up a $20 gift card for one lucky blog reader (plus a gift card for me so I can go try it and let you know how it is). How do you enter to win? Well, leave me a comment below with one of your favorite Valentine's presents, whether it's something you gave or something you received. I think that we've all done flowers, chocolates, teddy bears, dinners and such, but every now and then we all have that "this is the best present ever" moment.... so share it with us and you might get the $20 gift card. I'm trying to think of a good Valentine's related example, but after almost 20 years of knowing my wife, I can only think of nice things I've done, nothing spectacular.

Note: "I hate valentine's day" is a completely acceptable answer  :)

Thursday Update: A winner will be picked at some point on Thursday (I swear). Thank you all for your wonderful submissions. Stay Tuned.

  1. Favorite Valentine's Day gift I've given is probably tickets to a concert!

  2. One year my girlfriend made me a customized blanket. One side had the University of Texas logo everywhere, and the other side was golf themed...my two favorite things at the time. She frayed the edges and tied the two side together making the warmest, most comfortably gift ever!

  3. This is my first year working in an office on Valentines Day, and I'm actually the youngest person in the company. I feel it my duty to bring star wars valentines for everyone)

  4. My husband is a (now retired) United States Marine, and I am a military crisis counselor, and between our jobs and home-schooling 3 young children (on with Autism) holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, and the like tend to get focused on the kids or ignored. Last year, though, my husband got time off ( 5 months in advance to request it! ) and stayed home secretly a whole day- organizing, cleaning (usually mostly my responsibility) and tackling a mile long to-do list- even repainting the laundry room and the master bathroom! BEST. GIFT. EVER!

  5. We're not super big on valentine's day but we try to make a nice dinner. So I guess the nicest V-day gift I've gotten is some dinner prep help and possibly a good quality beer :) What can I say, I'm easy to please.

  9. A dozen roses, each attached with a note about why you love that person.

  10. My mother and I always exchange cute cards and a drugstore box of chocolates. Very inexpensive, but the tradition makes it special. I'm 28 years old, and I still look forward to our Valentine's day exchange.

  12. in my 24 year I have had a girlfriend on 2 valentines days. I don't know why but I have a hard time introducing myself to the ladies. Anywho, when you don't have anyone, its one of the worse days but when you do have someone I have never really gotten anything but I absolutely love the change to spoil the one I care about. If only the girls liked the nice guys

  13. All day my boyfriend never even mentioned valentines day, even when I was dropping hints about it. I wasn't expecting anything at all when I got home, but I still bought the usual card and chocolates. But when I got home, he cleaned the whole house, and set up a homemade candlelit dinner for two, with fresh roses in a vase. Best valentines present ever

  14. A treat it a treat especially when I got a 7 oz giant hershey's kiss! But I'm also planning on getting a special my local pizzeria has: a heart shaped pizza and two cannolis! If that's not creative I don't know what is!

  15. The best Valentine's day gift I got was tickets to see the Bodies exhibit! I work in health care and while pretty much everyone (including my husband) is grossed out by the idea of looking at preserved dead bodies, I thought it was so interesting. My husband was so sweet to get the tickets for me.

  16. Hmm...Valentine's Day. I actually don't think I get much more than a card and maybe a kiss. I usually get flowers for Mother's Day which just end up wilting. For our family, Valentine's Day is often spent in Florida with my mom. Go figure that we New Englanders (I live in MA) have more ice cream stands than people in the sunny state of Florida. There is only one ice cream stand near my mom in Florida. Really good ice cream and there are interesting license plates lining the store. It's really small and has a name like "Scoops" or something. It's homemade. Sorry...just got really off topic...felt it was more interesting than the lack of gifts I get for Valentine's Day...maybe I will get a Sonic gift card this year...

  18. My husband and I aren't really into Valentine's Day, so we don't do gifts or anything. Usually, we just use it as an excuse to justify going out for a nice sushi dinner :)

  19. One year, when I was younger, my parents gave me a snowboard for valentines day. Because nothing says I love you like a snowboard. I think it must have been left over from Christmas or something, but I guess it's fair game for any winter holiday.

  20. Although it has been panned before by foodies, my best Valentine's present came from Papa John's. I am currently a single mom, and last year I was very pregnant with twins...with no sweetie in my life. My dad was helping me survive the tail end of the pregnancy and he got me one of those heart-shaped pizzas from Papa John's. It was such a sweet gesture. Nothing compares to food for a preggo lady!

  23. If you read through these comments, you'll realize you can't pick just one that stands out, so, that's why I had to use the power of chance to pick the winner who is....

StyLinStaR53! Congrats! The $20 Gift card is yours. Hope everyone has a nice February 14th, no matter what you may do on that day.
