Why waste time with four posts? Let's run through these quick!
Friendly's Chocolate Marshmallow Swirl Ice Cream
Chocolate Ice Cream with a Marshmallow Swirl
Let's be honest, the flavor profile is effectively the same as Edy's / Dreyer's "Hot Cocoa" ice cream. Does the family like it? Yup, and with an extra thumbs up from my wife. It's your average main stream ice cream texture but the overall marshmallow enhanced flavor profile really clicked with her. Me? It's fine, it's just that I miss the graham cracker swirl of S'mores flavors that help balance out the overall flavor and also add some nice gritty texture. That's personal preference though... plus I can always add my own. I'm sure I'll pick this one up again.
Turkey Hill Chocolate Marshmallow Ice Cream

Should have dug down deeper for a better shot. Pretty much the same ice cream. Made for some fun sundaes. Not really sure what else to say, except "Why doesn't Turkey Hill make a s'mores flavor?" They have that awesome graham cracker swirl at their disposal, that's see it here!
On Second Scoop: We've grown tired of this one as it's too gummy.
Friendly's Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream
official description says "vanilla ice cream with cherries"
(yeah, maybe that was the old version)

I kind of forgot to write my thoughts down on this one. I think the gist was that this was a nice, clean, mellow flavor. It went great in not 1 but 2 breakfast sundaes. It's just a easy flavor to chill out with. I hate when the cherries distract from the main flavor and happily they don't do that here. I really liked this flavor and would happily pick it up again.
and last up is...
[New for 2013] Breyers Lactose Free Chocolate light ice cream
See, I don't mind having the lactose free vanilla around because it's got a decent flavor and it's got a fairly clean texture that reminds me a bit of the Breyers of old, plus it's light and low cal. So I was thinking, well, I need a chocolate base for making random sundaes, so why not give this a shot.and when I say random sundaes, I mean anything is fair game. This is me trying to come up with my own topping mix. It's pretzels, chocolate graham crackers, biscoff cookies, and a few chocolate sprinkles for good measure. Looks awesome, tastes awesome. Sometimes you just have to do it your way!
I'm glad you did the sample of all these flavors as Friendly's cherry vanilla is one of my go tos. I also wondered why TH never went the smores route - I'm a huge fan of their epic swirls!
