Talenti Salted Peanut Caramel Gelato #33
salted peanut gelato with dry-roasted peanuts and a salted caramel swirl
first bite: mmmm, peanut brittle
second bite: whoa, yeah, this is kind of awesome.
The ingredients scared me a little but this one is just epic from the first bite. I'm not sure this one even needs a review. It's exactly what you want. Plenty of flavor. Great texture. Just a bit of salt to tie it all together without being overwhelming.
Holy cow I just found a giant peanut.
My word this is good. I think this is now my favorite Talenti flavor. I think this may be my new favorite peanut flavor actually. I'm just going to sit here and eat the entire pint if that's ok with you. It's just so good. No, it's perfect. I wouldn't change anything. The way the caramel sweetness comes across the peanut backdrop is just amazing. Exquisite. Excellent. My word I'm such a bad reviewer.
Must save some for tomorrow.
Buy This. Now. (You can thank me later)
On Second Scoop: I like this one so much that I didn't have the heart to finish the second half of the pint today. It's too good. It seemed wrong to inhale it. It's going to be hard to top this one.
Verdict? AWESOME
Buy Again? As often as possible
Is this a peanut butter flavor?
ReplyDelete"peanut" flavor to be precise, but like I mentioned, it reminds me of peanut brittle with all the caramel floating around
ReplyDeleteI don't know...I'm just so over Salted Caramel. It's everywhere now, and so overdone.
ReplyDelete@TTB: make an exception for this one. I agree with the SC hype, but here, it's just part of a much larger show.
ReplyDeleteThis tastes EXACTLY like the inside of a Snickers. I love it. It's so simple, yet enjoyable.
ReplyDelete@Zin: hahahahahaha, I was going to say they need to throw this in one of their gelato pops, it will taste just like a candy bar!
ReplyDeleteThis is yummy. Dubba hit the nail on the head - peanut brittle.
ReplyDeleteI finally tried this flavor. I have to agree with Zin. My first thought was it tasted like a snickers ice cream bar. Made me wish I had some chocolate magic shell to go with it.
ReplyDelete1/2 cup gives you 30% of your daily sat fat allowance! Who can eat just 1/2 cup? Talenti is like a drug dealer!
ReplyDelete@Jimbo: smaller spoon :)
ReplyDeletealso, talenti is easier on you then a super premium ice cream.
Took me til now to try, and I'm sorry I waited for as long as I did. It is now my 4th favorite Talenti, but given that the other three are seasonal or no longer available (Egg Nog, Peppermint Bark, Hazelnut) it's my favorite year-round Talenti. However, my thought process didn't go to Snickers or Brittle, but to DQ's Peanut Buster Parfait, and more specifically, the Buster Bars. Mixing this with some of that thick DQ like Hot Fudge would be insane.
ReplyDeleteI finally was able to find this flavor (B0GO even). Wow, what a disappointment. The base tasted like vanilla and mine had small amounts of plain peanuts sparsely scattered throughout. I have consumed half of the pint and have yet to find a hint of caramel. They need better quality control!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to this flavor?!
ReplyDeleteSorry, it was retired. For the last several years, they have kept themselves limited to 40 flavors in total so less popular flavors get retired. (doesn't mean they aren't great, they just aren't as profitable as other flavors)
