FYI: Blue Bell Creameries is recalling everything, literally EVERY product they make. You may have heard of their original limited outbreak of listeria which led to their first recall ever, which was then expanded, but as of last night, it's now a voluntary recall of everything. Freezer shelves should be empty for a few weeks until things get straightened out.
You can read the press release here.
"Consumers who have purchased these items are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information consumers with questions may call 1-866-608-3940 Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CST or go to bluebell.com. "
If you are interested, they also posted a video from their President and CEO.
Please be safe everyone!
NOTE: Jeni's Splendid ice cream has also issued a recall for listeria, more info here
I commend them for this. It's going to be really rough on their profits, but it's the right thing to do. Everyone needs to support them when they come back. Will show other Corporations that being proactive is positive.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they don't sell this brand in my area. I'd NEVER give back my ice cream haha
ReplyDeleteThis looks bad for Blue Bell since it's in two different plants in two different states. They should have recalled everything two months ago.
ReplyDeleteYikes, that's going to hurt business. Despite the efforts to fix the problem, I'm sure many consumers will take a stance that their products are not safe. Hopefully they can come back from this. This is after all the second time this has happened.
ReplyDelete@TTB: eh? this is their first recall, its just gotten larger
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jeni's has just done a voluntary recall as well!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I guess they are!

I must have misread the post. I thought this was the second time they had done a recall. My fault.
ReplyDeleteno worries, I wrote it a little funny, I was just trying to show that the recalling kept expanding
