Perry's Bourbon Caramel Pecan Ice Cream

[New for early 2016] Please take the following post as more of a flavor announcement than an actual review. Perry's was nice enough to send over three new flavors back at the end of January and while alcoholic flavors are never my thing, it wouldn't be fair to not show it to you. Well, that, and they just sent over some spring stuff so we need to dig in to those now too.

Perry's Bourbon Caramel Pecan Ice Cream

I smell something but not sure what.

I take a bite and oh... my... yeah, so not in my wheelhouse, at all. It's got that air of alcohol as it melts on your tastebuds. Not so much the burn but that whatever vapor that comes off an adult beverage.

I kind of want to say it's buttery. At least there are lots of pecans so maybe that's what making me think butter.

I'll be honest. Since it was free, I was tempted to toss it after the first bite, but it's kind of growing on me. There might be enough going on to distract me from my usual non-amusement of alcoholic flavors. It's the sweetness in particular. Well, and the pecans.

Ok, so basically I don't completely hate it though I wish I could describe it better other than it's sweet and full of pecans. If I stop eating for too long, the sweet fades and I'm left with alcoholic weirdness which I am not a fan of (in general, not just in particular).

Moral of the story: I should not be reviewing this flavor.

Also, fairly sure this lingering burn is going to turn in to heart burn. We'll see if I go for a second scoop or not.... oh, yeah, not a fan of the aftertaste. Wish I had some extra caramel to add while I was eating it, that may have helped the end result.
