Breyers Butterscotch Blondie Frozen Dairy Dessert
buttescotch flavor with other natural flavors and blondie pieces
I take my first bite and I get a little scared...
Everyone remembers that I basically hate Breyers at this point right? It kills me that my childhood favorite is reduced to rubbish like this. I was going to compare this to the butterscotch flavor of Isaly's Maricopa but this might be actually be worse. I couldn't even make it passed a few bites before I went "no, just no".
I don't even want it on my tastebuds long enough to go in to detail of the exact flavor profile. It's an awful butterscotch flavor in a frozen dairy dessert that I wish didn't exist. I tried throwing in cookie butter Oreos and then frosted rice krispies and I still couldn't finish it. I might actually throw this out and you know how much I hate to waste.
You should be ashamed Breyers. Go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.
On Second Scoop: why bother? this isn't even worthy of a milkshake or breakfast sundae.
Verdict? AWFUL
Buy Again? no chance
No chance at even making a milkshake? With add ins? When I hate something or have freezer burn, I simply pulverize it. Generally that does the trick. Breyer's has gone downhill since I was a kid. It was fantastic then. Of course, I thought Klondike was better then too.
ReplyDeletefunny how both of the products you mentioned are made by Unilever.... I'll force myself to try it again at some point but I had so much trouble getting past "why am I eating this?" Maybe someone in my family wants it....
ReplyDeleteYou know an 'ice cream' is bad when it doesn't qualify to even be called ice cream by the low government standards. Frozen Dairy Dessert LOL
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are confident of the correctness of what you say.
ReplyDeleteWhich is why am confused why, here in this house, this flavor is a favourite.
The texture is creamy, and the butterscotch is just right not too sweet and with a very pleasant taste. Still don't know what a "blondie," is, but seems to be some kind of nougat. In any event, the little "blondies" seemed pleasant enough, chewy and satisfying.
Don't mean to be a dissenting voice, and very posssibly you with your greater knowlede of these things are correct.
Dissenting opinions are always welcome (as long as they aren't rude to other readers ofcourse)
ReplyDeleteYou know everyone is different right? And a product doesn't get this far without appealing to at least some consumers. This is my opinion as someone who has reviewed 1400+ ice creams on top of all the ice cream I ate before I started this blog. In particular, I've been eating Breyers since I was a little kid.
This may sound unintentionally rude, but your spelling of favourite and not knowing what a blondie is makes me think you are new to the Breyers scene maybe?
I have no problem if you enjoy this ice cream and you are welcome to my share. That said, I still think it's junk and the Breyer's flavor gurus from the 80s would probably be ashamed to put out such a product.

This flavor is awful..sickeningly sweet without rhyme or reason. Mixed with more nasty sweet concrete textured items. So bad i returned it to grocery store. Unedible. Manager promptly refunded my money...with a tacit agreement.
