Top Ten New Reviews of 2017

Hey everyone! We've already covered that sugar replacement is hottest topic on the blog (despite not actually reviewing it), and we've covered what's least trendy on the blog. Now, FINALLY, we'll cover the top ten new reviews of 2017. Are you ready?

#10 Haagen-Daz Trio kicks us off at the ten spot, the salted caramel version in particular. It actually only beat out another Trio flavor (vanilla blackberry) by 2%. Fun fact: H-D tweaked the packaging after the initial release so it was easier to tell the difference between the four Trio flavors.

#9 Yuengling Butterbeer ice cream makes a surprise appearance thanks to Harry Potter fans around the world. This is Yuengling's first appearance on the countdown so congratulations to them.

#8 Edy's Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. These were part of a limited edition line up which is probably best because the Oatmeal version did not do well in the rankings.

#7 Talenti's first appearance on the countdown is with their Vanilla Blueberry Crumble gelato. I never got around to trying a second pint to see if the flavoring was any stronger.

#6 Coolhaus makes its first appearance on a countdown thanks to their Salty S'mores flavor. If you ask me, there should always be a s'mores or graham flavor on the countdown.

#5 More Trio love goes to the Triple Chocolate flavor. I know some of you wanted more from this line up but I still really enjoyed it. I assume the tech that went in to this wasn't cheap so I wouldn't expect these to be another one year and done H-D product.

#4 Ben & Jerry's makes its first appearance with Truffle Kerfuffle (though One Love almost grabbed the ten spot). Is it fitting or annoying that this one has those fudge flakes that have been driving a lot of you crazy. I like how plentiful they have been in whatever flavor they show up in, but it sure seems like a lot of you miss the bigger chunks of the old days.

#3 Ben & Jerry's Oat of the Swirled ice cream is the other B&J flavors on the countdown this year, probably because it's widely available unlikely the much discussed but rarely found Keep Caramel and Cookie On.

#2 Look at Talenti Peanut Butter Fudge Sorbetto topping B&J's this year! Ok, don't be too impressed, it's by less than 1%. This was definitely an impressive product, but there was something similar that really had my attention, and it just happens to be number one....

#1 The top prize goes to Haagen-Dazs Peanut Butter Salted Fudge ice cream this year and it's awesome if you haven't tried it yet. I think it's pretty funny that #1 and #2 are such similar products, though H-D easily wins with 10% more pageviews than the Talenti version.

There you have it. We've got the usual big players battling for the top spots while we also get the nice surprise of two smaller companies to keep things interesting. Oh, did you notice who isn't on the list? Yeah, it's Dairy Queen. This is their first year to not show up on the list. Ouch.

  1. Coolhaus Salty S'mores was probably the best Ice cream I had this year.
