Pumpkin ice cream with cinnamon graham ribbon & pie crust pieces
In my defense, I wanted to review this two weeks ago, but it's not always easy to find the latest and greatest from 7-Eleven.... especially when they shut down the road leading to the nearest one. My second try was to the other local 7-Eleven yesterday but they did not have it. So, my third try was back to the first location today and low and behold, I found it.
Ok, that's not terribly inspiring, but let's dig in anyway.
I take a few bites and I like it! It's not too heavy handed with the pumpkin spices and goes for a nice middle of the road flavoring instead. I approve of this. I know people love their pumpkin spices but let the actual pumpkin and the actual ice cream do some of the talking too.
Ok, that's it for now. Will you be tracking this one down or do you have your heart set on a different pumpkin flavor? Share your thoughts in the comments!
On Second Scoop: Oh geez, I liked this even more on the second try. I like my pumpkin flavors middle of the road and that's what I get here. Ofcourse I prefer the bites that include a little added texture from the tasty swirl or pea-sized crust bites, but it's just a really nice treat. Unless you can only be happy with strong pumpkin flavors, then I would definitely give this one a try.
Foot Note: I totally forgot that 7-Eleven ice creams put out five new flavors at the beginning of the year. I also forgot that they have new packaging. I saw three of them today. Mint Cookies & Cream (totally my style), Latte Brownie Break (not my style), and Chocolate Fudge Tracks (yeah, I'll grab this one eventually). Since the mint pints were all frosted over, I wound up grabbing the Caramel Butter Pecan flavor as part of my 2 for $7 deal.
Verdict? enjoyable
Buy Again? sure!
Speaking of this on instagram/other review site, the packaging to me screams Reeses and is dissapointing even if Pumpkin is good too.
ReplyDeleteHa, not all orange things can be Reese's unfortunately. That said, I would still give this a try.
ReplyDelete"I still think their ice cream is a bit too dense"
ReplyDeleteDubba, can you elaborate on that comment? I found it interesting
When 7-11 first introduced their new ice cream line in 2015, the density reminded me of 2nd St Creamery (probably because it came from the same plant). That said, they seemed to have tweaked things over the years. There are moments when I still think it's a little dense, but it's not as striking to me. To be even more specific, it had the density but not the creaminess you would associate with that level of ice cream. There was just something askew to me though there are tons of people out there who just don't notice it (keep in mind that I tend to be more finicky with texture than the majority of people, I've just always been that way since I was a kid)
ReplyDeleteThat help?
Can you review Sonic's new Double Stuf Oreo Waffle Cone?

I was going to say it's too far, but they built a few more Sonics in my area. I'll see if we can't make it out to one of them.
ReplyDeleteI try all things pumpkin and have been looking for this to no avail. The only pumpkin ice cream I couldn’t finish was Trader Joe’s. That was “smack in your face” spices.
