High Road Sugar Cookies with Red Berries Ice Cream Sandwiches
(mixed berry ice cream between two buttery sugar cookies)
Even at $3.99, that means these sandwiches are still two bucks a pop, so I hope they're good! (ok, I'm not really concerned that they will be good, it's a question of how good).
Ok, those cookies look a bit thin, but you know what? They pack a ton of flavor for their size. They could easily get lost here and they don't. I am impressed!
The flavor combo? Yeah, it works great. It's a nice berry flavor that is leaning pretty hard to the strawberry side, but is a bit more well rounded than a straight strawberry flavor. Mix that thick inner ice cream layer with the very soft but flavorful cookies and this was a delicious treat. I enjoyed every bite.
The only thing I want to do differently for next time is not eat it straight from the chest freezer. The thin cookies tempered much quicker than the solid core which I think took a smidge away from the experience. I hate nitpicking that they used such a nice solid ice cream for the filling, so let me clarify this is a tiny self imposed nitpick for a truly delicious sandwich. I loved loved loved this combo here and I will totally buy these again.
On Second Scoop: Mmmmm, still delicious. As you can tell, I really love this combo. I have no major complaints here, these are great.... geez, now I have another contender for favorite ice cream sandwich. I can't wait to try the chocolate chip ones I still have in the freezer.
Verdict? Delicious
Buy Again? YES!!

OMG, this is unbelievably delicious. I decided to only eat one half, as I wanted to have another hit the next day. Never had an ice cream sandwich this good.
ReplyDeleteHA! I often eat half too, just to spread out the enjoyment :)
