Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chunks
Why was it half off? I didn't know... at first, though it did seem a little odd that the expiration date was May 17, 2020. When I went back for more later in the day, I realized that the back of the package says "Not for Retail Sale". WHOOPS! That explains why they clearanced them (and why the half baked version was already gone). --- Hey, to anyone who works in a grocery store, do they get sample products sometimes?
Let me describe it another way. When I was a kid, I would sometimes shove the chocolate cupcakes from Tastykake in to the freezer. There was something magical about the way the chocolate cake and fudge frosting would freezer together. These bites remind me of that awesomeness. I could easily become addicted to these things.
As a disclaimer, I will add that these are rich enough that one can manage to not eat the whole bag. I'm not saying the urge wasn't there, but there's definitely enough flavor in say two servings that you can put it away and save some for later.
On Second Scoop: Delicious! I need not say anything else except that you might need a wet nap after eating these hehehe. Try these when you see these (if you love chocolate ofcourse)
Verdict? better than the regular chocolate chip version
Buy Again? Yup!
Damn it Dubba. I figured these would be great, but I didn't feel compelled to try them. Then you had to go and reference frozen cupcakes. We were a Hostess household, but I imagine it's basically the same, and those are some of my fondest memories from when I weighed as much as two people. Now I have to try these.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA, sorry man, it had to be said! :)
ReplyDeleteI pitched to Ben & Jerry's to have an new flavor called "unbaked" which is cake batter ice cream with brownie batter ribbon and cookie dough chunks. That would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteI work for a grocery store. Generally vendors *can* give samples, and some companies send them, I've never seen any for ice cream companies before. The company that makes the pretzel thins and the brownie brittle used to send not for resale bags to us for sampling. Sometimes they made it to customer sample domes sometimes they made it to the break room.
