Yasso Vanilla Chocolate Crunch Dipped Greek Yogurt Bars
vanilla greek froyo with a chocolate coating that has crispy quinoa
"Vanill-ooh-la-la!" (points for the colorful wrapper)
(ignore the green hued reflection on the right side)
I try to bite in.... and I get stuck. Oh that inner bar is solid, even after a few minutes of being outside for photos. I have to let it temper a bit more. Ofcourse, I'm impatient as always and try to push forward.
It softens up a bit, but I feel like I'm eating this wrong. I can either bite off the coating with it's unique crispy quinoa (which does work by the way), or trying to eat it all together with the very solid insides. I'm too impatient for this... and every time I try to take a bite, I risk losing more of the shell (it's not stuck to the bar so it flakes off and falls off pretty easily).
I'm going to hold off any serious judgement for now. It's not a bad bar, but I obviously need to let it temper next time and then get a proper analysis going.
On Second Scoop: tomorrow hopefully
Verdict? (TBD)
Buy Again? maybe!
I can relate to this so much. Waiting for ice cream to temper is the hardest part and I usually lose. xD
ReplyDeleteWould you say the size compares to Haagen Daz or Dove? The nutrition seems so good I wonder if it's half the size!
ReplyDeletePutting quinoa in a frozen treat in an attempt to up its nutritional value? I am not falling for it.
ReplyDelete@Chime: yes!
ReplyDelete@Erin: well it's Greek Froyo vs Premium ice cream. Haagen-Dazs bars are usually 3 fluid ounces and these are 2.65. So Yasso is 11% in size but only half the calories if you want to think about it that way.
@Mark: nah, I dont feel like it's trying to be overly hip or cool, it's just trying to be... I guess simple is a good word. If they wanted to bring true attention to it, it would be on the front of the box, not the back :)
