Haagan-Dazs Dulce de Leche Churro Ice Cream

[New for 2022] Whoa, is it April already? Time really does start to fly as you get older. It's one of the reasons why I post 1-2 times a week instead of 3-5 times a week. Anyway, Haagan-Dazs' new churro bars were so good, is there any way that this pint rocks the same magic?

I was hoping to see more swirl.

Whoa, how quickly all the churro bits appeared...  oh, that first one was not good, very stale tasting.... and neither are these other two. Oh no! Has this ice cream be ruined by the mix-ins?

ok, that one was less rubbery...  the melting ice cream is excellent, but these bits.... oh, they kind of hurt to chew sometimes. I am not amused right now, I'll be right back....

Ok, I'm back from spitting out several churro bits. I've eaten about half the faux pint and finally got one lone churro that was decently crunchy and not rubbery. Talk about loving and hating something at the same time.

Have you had Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros cereal? The churro bits are kind of like mini versions of that, except painful to chew, at least in my case. Talking it over with the instagram crowd, it seems I was not alone with opinions ranging from 90% crunchy to 90% chewy (like the pint I got). You know the saddest part? The churro bits are very plentiful, so if they were all crunchy, this pint might be amazing, but since they aren't, they just take up space that could have been used for more of that delicious base ice cream.

On Second Scoop: Man this one frustrates me. I was kind of hoping Haagan-Dazs might respond via instagram, but they have not. Should I contact them and tell them they have a disaster on their hands?

Verdict?  painful
