[New for Fall 2023] I wander through the freezer aisle every time I go to a grocery store, but the reality is that I rarely find anything new. Well, today was a happy exception to that.
Ben & Jerry's Pecan Pie Ice Cream

It's limited batch and this was at Walmart, but it's also been spied at Target. I can't imagine this isn't tasty, and it's definitely more my speed then their Bourbon Pecan Pie ice cream from 2015.
That said, this current version features buttery ice cream while the old Southern Pecan Pie version used a brown sugar ice cream. Mmmmmm. I'm sorry I missed that.
Anyway, I'm not sure if or when I will get to try this, so I'm relying on you to find it and report back with your thoughts. Happy ice cream hunting!
Oh wow, this is really exciting news. Not being in texas, I never got to try the bourbon one, so Im looking forward to this! My only concern is the pie crust pieces, which tend to be very dry from B&J
ReplyDeleteWhich, speaking of pecans, I remember they used to release Pecan Sticky Buns annually this time of year. I really liked that one and hoped they'd continue to bring it back every fall. Perhaps this is the replacement?
ReplyDeleteA couple years ago, Walmart had a similar exclusive B&J flavor called Pecan Sticky Buns that was just outrageously good. Good enough to brave my local Wal-Mart, in fact.

A comment above made me think of something. Ben and Jerry's is known for their mix-ins. They should do a collaboration with Crumbl cookie for some really awesome ice cream. My local Crumbl actually offered ice cream for a hot minute, but it was mediocre. I think a collab would be awesome. Of course, I am sure there are all kind of business things that have to be in play for these kinds of things.

ReplyDeleteI agree with a previous Anonymous post about B&J not tasting the same. However, this flavor restores my faith! It's amazing! The caramel swirls and huge crust pieces save the day for me!
ReplyDeleteTotal fail. It tastes just like vanilla with caramel. And why is caramel even in there? Does it have to be in everything? It's not an ingredient in pecan pie. The swirls should be made out of pecan pie filling goo (whatever that is). The pecans are good, that's about it.

ReplyDeleteThis ice cream is so so good! It's has a creamy taste and texture. With the perfect amount of caramel in each bite. Oh, and the pecans!! With the bits of crust and pieces of pecan pie 🥧 feels like your in a dream. I've been hooked since the first spoon. And I've been searching everyday since. So far I've only found them in VONS grocery stores. Trust me it's a must try!!
