[New for 2023] This is probably the most fun photo that I've taken in awhile. I wasn't expecting whole foods to just group all 3 of these brands on the same shelf. Was someone planning ahead for the social media crowd? If so, bravo!
Dolcezza and Milk Bar on sale for $6, McConnell's for $8
Hot Cocoa : Spiced Milk Chocolate
Gelato with Mini Marshmallows and Dark Chocolate Cookies
Sugar Cookie Dough : Sugar Cookie
Batter gelato with Sugar Cookie Dough and Chocolate Chips
Those both sound amazing and I think I would probably crack open the Hot Cocoa
first.
Next my eye caught the two new McConnell's flavors, but I was so excited by
this shelf that I just now noticed that they are dairy-free! (and exclusive to
Whole Foods FYI).
Gingerbread House : gingerbread cookies, "cream" and swirls of dark chocolate
Peppermint Mocha & Brownie Bites :
house-baked, gluten-free brownies, peppermint-spiked mocha "cream", and swirls
of chocolate ganache
I had never thought to check on McConnell's dairy free options until just now.
You can
read more here, but they use an oat base and clean their machines throughout the day to
minimize the chance of cross-contamination. These flavors are all gluten-free
as well. You know that I appreciate when companies realize that there is more
to being dairy-free than just not putting dairy in their product.
Last but not least, I spied the Milk Bar flavors hanging with Dolcezza and McConnell's.
Candy Cane Cookies & Cream :
peppermint-flavored ice cream ribboned with chocolate cookies & icing,
then loaded with sandwich cookies
Gingerbread Latte : ginger-bread
flavored ice cream meets your favorite latter - with swirls of icing and
cinnamon cookies
Do the Milk Bar flavors seem familiar yet different? Well, they should!
CCC&C replaces Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Corn and GB Latte replaces
Gingerbread House. Both of the old flavors debuted in late 2021.
So what do you think of all of these? Sure, two are gingerbread themed (not really my thing) and two have coffee vibes (really not my thing), but seeing these all together made me happy. I still had 3-4 chores to do, so I was debating if I wanted to do those chores, or skip the chores and just bring all of these home.
Final Note: If you didn't know, Dolcezza is ditching their fun chemistry themed plastic pints for these new colorful paper pints. I will miss the plastic pints, but if this helps them grow the business, I'm all for it.
I think all the flavors look promising. Here in rural NJ I don't have access to these brands so I'm curious for a review. I recently tried the Hudsonville/Little Debbie collaboration. Strawberry roll was a C for me, Nutty Bar was a B. Have you tried them? I did also buy the BJ Pecan Pie so I have to try that out soon.
