More Haagen-Dazs Cultured Cremes

[New for 2024] Do you remember those "yogurt style snacks" that H-D put out last year? If so, have you noticed that they put out two new flavors? That's right, the lineup finally has some chocolatey options. Let's check out.....

Vanilla & Chocolate Cultured Creme
Chocolate Raspberry Cultured Creme

Ohhhh, I don't know which one to try first! I wind up opening the chocolate raspberry first and then immediately bite into a raspberry seed. That was unexpected!

I open the vanilla & chocolate one second and to my surprise it's a vanilla chocolate chip flavor! I was thinking it might be just a blend of vanilla and chocolate flavors, but nope!

That bit of cultured creme tang is definitely confusing me a bit. I think it makes things better, but I'm not positive. I almost think I taste... coconut? Not sure how else to describe it. One more bite and.... yeah, I think I like this one.

Back to CR: I would prefer the chocolate to be much stronger, but that lingering raspberry note in the aftertaste is kind of fun and different. It's weird because technically the raspberry isn't super strong either, the flavor just ends on a raspberry note.

I really want to mix these two together....  wait, it is my blog after all, so I'm going for it!

Ok, maybe that wasn't my best idea. Mixing has killed the chocolate flavoring, but also the vanilla flavoring, so now this combination is in flavor limbo with a random half-berry tang to it. So, yeah, don't do that. Throwing in a little chocolate sauce to the CR would have been a wiser choice.

That's about it for these. I don't foresee rebuying either one of these to be honest, not that they are bad per say. If anything, I might pick up another vanilla bean one to remind myself what it tasted like (and to verify that these haven't changed in general (aka become more tangy).

For reference: First, here is last year's review. Also, the haagendazsculturedcreme.com website still mentions the lemon and coffee flavors that I haven't tried, but it hasn't been updated with these two new flavors yet. Oh, and one more thing, a friendly reminder that these are "cultured cremes" that are in the yogurt aisle, but that doesn't mean they are legally yogurt. You can read more about the difference here.

  1. The lemon is good. I liked all the ones I've tried (no interest in coffee) and strawberry was my favorite. Now I'll be on the lookout for these two.

  2. Love vanilla. Strawberry is a close second. Didn't care for the coffee.

  3. I made a snarky comment when these were first released. My feeling was, do we really need this product and why? However, being a sucker for anything new, I tried them. I really like them. It’s a dessert, and it’s not nearly as bad as other dessert choices.

  4. I was inhaling the vanilla ones last year when they had them at Sam's Club and I could get them for cheaper. I wasn't a big fan of the other flavors, but vanilla was like yogurt custard.

  5. Haagen Dazs needs to bring back the peanut butter pie flavor from many years ago. The best I've ever had from them.

  6. I also really like all the HD cultured cream flavors they have released so far. I've tried all of them including these two. I'd love to see even more varieties like pomegranate, kiwi, exotics!
