Would you try a GummiCone?

[New for November 2024] On Wednesday, at Conecon in Atlanta, Mojoz unveiled a new kind of cone that also works on not just ice cream and softserve, but also for Italian Ice (or Polish ice, shaved ice, water ice, etc).

Mojoz Gummicone
mango, strawberry, and lime

If you like local stuff, you'll be happy to know these are made in New Jersey.

Joe, the creator, emailed me the other day to share the big news. One of my first concerns was that the GummiCone might get too hard to eat as it chills, but he says that they've formulated the product to handle the temperature change.

One of Joe's big selling points was the possibility of flavor combos. There are three flavors to start, but there are more coming. You could go with vanilla softserve and let the cone bring the flavor, or, he shared the example of mixing a lime cone with a lemon ice to go for a Sprite vibe.

I'll be honest, I was kind of thrown off by the idea at first because gummy bears have never been my thing, but as time passes, I see where he's going with this and I wish him the best of luck.

So, would you try these, and if you would, what combo do you think you would try first?

  1. Id definitely try them. Weirdly, as a kid i was never into gummies. I always went for chocolate. Now, as an adult, that’s a complete reversal because I’m all about gummies. I hope these get wide distribution. I’d try any combo.

  2. I would try it, but I like trying new things. Not sure it will every supplant my favorite waffle cone! I would try a mango gummy cone with vanilla ice cream or maybe an orange gummy cone with chocolate ice cream. Some basic combination. And I feel sure it would not work as well with hard packed ice cream as soft serve. Froyo might work well....think sweet frog. Or maybe custard from Rita's

  3. I think I’d prefer a waffle cone but I am definitely curious enough to try it once. I wonder what the texture is like.

  4. Honestly, I've never understood the combination of gummy bears and ice cream/soft serve....texture wise, flavor-wise....it just doesn't work for me. However, I see gummy bears as an add on in almost every soft serve place around, so someone must like it!
