Ben & Jerry's Minter Wonderland Ice Cream

[New for late 2018] I picked up this pint thinking that I could update my original review with a photo of the new packaging, but there's one problem.... I never actually reviewed this flavor!

Ben & Jerry's Minter Wonderland Ice Cream
dark chocolate mint ice cream with marshmallow swirls and chocolate cookie swirls

Wow, that's dark! Guess it's been too long since I've seen a dark chocolate ice cream! I scrape the lid and sample... is there a bit of a punch to this dark chocolate and minty combo? Are they amplifying each other?

It's like a crazy dark chocolate mousse with a minty finish. It's growing on me with each bite. I can feel my tastebuds freezing over with each minty blast (aka the finish of minty effervescence).

I'm sorry I didn't try this sooner because it's totally in my wheel house. I like that hint of cookie vibe in the aftertaste too.

If you only get a smidge of marshmallow, it's almost got a ooey gooey brownie vibe to it. If you happen to get a ton of marshmallow, then it's a totally different experience. Hmmm, I don't know which experience I prefer more.

As a fan of minty things, this one is a ton of fun. I'm just going to do a "small" sampling for now, but I can't wait to have this one again.

On Second Scoop: My biggest problem with this ice cream is that I'm frustrated that it makes me have to decide if I want swirl on my spoon or not.... HA! Sorry, couldn't resist. I really dig the dark chocolate mint on it's own, but the bites with marshmallow and cookie swirl are really fun too. I guess the real problem is that I tend to forget how much I love flavors like this. You definitely need to scoop this one if you are a fan of mint.

Verdict?  very tasty!

  1. Yeah, that looks real good. I'm not generally a big fan of chocolate bases but I bet this is delicious.

  2. We love this one and get it every Christmas. But I don’t think I want it year round. Reminds me of an after 8 thin mint. Remember those? I wish they still made them or maybe they do but I can’t find them.

    1. Looks like they are still a thing! Amazon has them, as does World Market, and also other places.

  3. As soon as I read your post I placed a pick up order from world market. If you order ahead you can get them cheaper! Thank you!
