Eggo Buttery Maple Ice Cream Sandwiches

[New for Early 2025] I went out to Shaw's Thursday morning in the hopes of finding new ice cream and boy oh boy did I find a lot of new ice cream. I (mostly) love (and hate) when I have too many tasty looking choices. It's easy when I have one or two things to choose from, but what happens when I see two dozen new products in front of me? Decisions decision decisions..... ok, I know what to get!

I tend to forget to read the description before I start inhaling things, so I'm caught a little off-guard by the slightly crumbly nature of the cookies. Basically they are giant shortbread cookies, albeit ones that are on the more dense side (maybe something akin to a Lorna Doone now that I think about it).

The two big factors that hit you first are the cookies but also the maple swirl. My gut told me that the maple version could click better than the blueberry or chocolate chip version, and at the moment, I think my gut was right. They come together pretty well.

If I had to nitpick, I would say that I was hoping for a little more waffle flavor and a little less maple flavor, but overall, yeah, I'm having fun. We've got legit cookies encompassing a fun breakfast themed filling. How would I not have fun with this?

Other positives include the fact that it's ice cream, not frozen dairy dessert. There's no way some junky FDD would have held up between these cookies. Yes, I made a bit of a mess eating this, but I was having fun the whole time and am looking forward to having another one tomorrow.

On Second Scoop: So many crumbs, but that's ok, because I'm enjoying my treat. I do have a feeling that this treat wont be for everyone (in the context of the fact that there are not a lot of maple flavors in the freezer aisle), but that doesnt mean I'm not enjoying these fun waffle shaped cookies filled with a solid ice cream. I kind of half expect the cookies to be released on their own sometime in the cookie aisle. Anyway, I really like this. It's well done, it's flavorful, and it's fun. I look forward to trying the other two flavors.
