[New for Early 2025] So I mentioned on the Rice Krispies Treat review that I had opened both (faux) pints and decided that I needed to try RKT first. Well, we saw how that went. Now it's a few hours later (literally, not figuratively) and I need to try this one to see if I made the right choice.

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Ice Cream
cereal milk flavored ice cream blended with Frosted Flakes

Branded.

Smells like corn flakes...
(but like wet corn flakes)

Oh, this one is real soft too. It's just like eating the soggy cereal at the bottom of the bowl.... why did I pay $5 for this when I just had this for "free" at the bottom of my bowl of frosted flakes Thursday night?
Why is it so soft and foamy? It's a bit less annoying as I scoop further down thankfully, but still, not fantastic.
Technically I think it's growing on me, but.... wow. Maybe I went in to this with expectations a little too high, but this is not how I envisioned things. Let me eat a few salty chips to see if that helps.... mmm, these chips are good... but that didn't help.
Part of me wants to say "what a stupid idea" but part of me wants to still be proud of the effort. This seemed like a fun idea, so how much credit do I give them for trying?
On Second Scoop: I'm torn on this one, I want to enjoy it, but I also want to bash it. Maybe I would like it more if it smelled better. Maybe I would like it more if it was made better. Maybe... maybe I should have tried a different cereal flavor first. At least I have one piece of advice: it's might be best to eat this one right out of the freezer before it gets too soft.
Verdict? tastes better than it smells, but not by much
Buy Again? nope
Buy Again? nope
Allergy note: manufactured on shared equipment
Thanks, I will stay away from this one even on discount
ReplyDeleteI would had made my own. Soak frosted flakes in heavy cream and then convert in ice cream. Then make like a caramelized corn flake crunch component
ReplyDeleteoooo, fancy! what if I just throw caramel and frosted flakes on this one as an emergency measure? :)
Deletethis one definitely would have benefited from a crunchy component.
