Breyers Hershey's S'mores Sandwich

[New for Early 2025] Breyer's has the new campfire collection for us this year which is made up of three s'mores based treats. They are somewhat easy to spot with their brown-ish coloring. First there is the tub of frozen dairy dessert which is more like the old blasts flavor (reviewed here) than the old layered flavor (reviewed here). Next there is the dessert bars, and last we have....

Breyers Hershey's S'mores Sandwich
toasted marshmallow flavored with chocolate swirls between two graham cracker wafers

I love how what it is (frozen dairy dessert) doesn't make it in to the description. Yes, the bottom left corner does say "frozen dairy dessert sandwiches", but I will forever miss the days where Breyers made actual ice cream. Anyway....

Clear wrapper so you know what you are getting.

I bite in to the sandwich and it's as ho-hum as I expected it to be. The graham isn't very grahamy, the marshmallow is minimal, and all I really get is some mediocre flavor from the chocolate swirls.

I didn't expect a whole lot from this sandwich, but I was hoping that maybe it would surprise me. It's not terrible, it's just kind of blah. Some will enjoy it (which is fine, you have that right), but I wanted more (because that's how I feel about it). Sorry. I've been doing this for so long and I know that there will always be those that will take this review to mean that my opinion isn't valid because they disagree. That's not how opinions work. You have one, and I have one that may or may not differ from yours. I'm not stating facts, except when I am, like saying this is frozen dairy dessert or that each sandwich is 4 fluid ounces. Those are facts. Saying I find the flavors mild and somewhat boring is an opinion. I know most of you get this, and I appreciate that, but it's always surprising when someone chimes in because they are offended by a reasonable opinion. Sorry, I felt like ranting I guess.

Anyway, this is like most Breyers products. Try it if you want.

On Second Scoop: it is what it is....

Verdict?  mild

  1. The sandwiches were the only Breyers Smores options that had a favorable review. As always, thank you from saving me from a disappointing experience. I too long for the days when Breyers was real ice cream. I literally don't even bother purchasing the brand anymore.

  2. About two months ago I stumbled upon a Kroger ice cream s’more sandwich sale. Each box was 1.00 for 12 sandwiches. Real ice cream. They had the same use of chocolate sauce and were good. These remind me of the same thing but with weaker ice cream. Back in 1992-93 brewers had much better real ice cream treats
